Risk Perception Management is a loose organisation of environmental health risk professionals from the academe and the private sector, addressing means to understand how the public perceives and reacts on potential risks (chemicals, pesticides, nano, GMOs, food safety, synthetic biology). We design tools and training to contextualize risks, manage risk perceptions and deal with different reactions from influential stakeholders (media, policymakers, NGO campaigners). The organisation was founded in 2006 by David Zaruk, a professor in Brussels with a decade of experience in risk issue management in the chemical industry (Solvay, Burson-Marsteller and Cefic), and an expert in science communications to non-specialists.
