LASER PREPARATION FROM THE GAS PHASE OF FUNCTIONALIZED (MAGNETIC, CATALYTIC, BIOCOMPATIBLE) OR ENCAPSULATED NANOPARTICLES, WITH CONTROLLED MEAN DIAMETERS 5-50 NM AND EXTREMELY NARROW SIZE DISTRIBUTIONS
The main research activities of the Laboratory of Laser Photochemistry (LLP)
 of the National Institute for Lasers, Plasma and Radiation Physics are focused
on the production by the laser pyrolysis technique of advanced nanoparticles and
 nanocomposites (in the 10 nm range mean particle size) which find application in
 different industrial sectors: aeronautic, automotive, construction, packaging, in
 biomedicine and health projects, in environmental researches or security.
We can provide expertise in the following areas; synthesis, size and shape controlled
 oxide powder, carbides, nanocomposites (e.g., nanosized Fe2O3 maghemite/magnetite,
 TiO2 , SnO2, Fe3C, TiC, iron oxide-polymer nanocomposites, core-shell Fe (Fe2O3)-carbon,
 Ti-doped Fe2O3, Ti/Fe-doped SnO2, TiO2-Fe2O3--polymer nanocomposites, SiO2-based
nanoparticles, etc., in various morphologies; synthesis, surface chemistry of
oxide ceramics, development of safe nano particulate systems, variable stoichiometry,
 crystallinity and grain growth of nanosized oxide materials and composites ;
achieving tailored properties by tailoring since the preparation method of the
microstructure of advanced materials
We are interested in participation in FP7 Project types:  Large-scale integrating
collaborative project Small or medium scale focused research collaborative project,
 Targeted to SMEs, Other (Marie Curie Actions, ERA-NET)
The expected results will be to investigate and to develop new functional materials
 for the industry/health/environment fields, introducing new materials, processes
and technologies, in order to improve the existing processes or materials. Scientific
exchanges may strongly favor these aims.
