We are currently working on the development of a project on materials for transport and looking for UK partners (industries, universities, research centers). The project will be presented to INTERREG IVA France (Channel) - England programme, with the possibility to have 50% ERDF financial contribution of the global budget .

The MEET ( Materials for Energy Efficiency in Transport) project objectives are the creation of a favorable climate for Cross Channel exchanges and partnerships between research and industry, raise the awareness of the industrial sector to emerging technologies and processes and, more generally, the promotion of the geographical area, its expertise and involvement in an innovation approach for socio-economic partners.

Some common subjects can be developed by our teams and some temporary staff would be recruited for research. Sharing of know-how, trainings on equipements and the study of market trends in the Channel area can be included as well.

Our reseachers are mainly interested in the following subjects : lightness and strength of composites for transport, superalloys for aircraft engines resistant to high temperature, resistance to the radiation of covers for fusion reactors, effective ceramic fuel cells, development of LED / OLED for display systems, thermoelectric devices... and keen to start a collaboration on this project as soon as possible.

We already have identified several partners in the French part of the cooperation zone: 1 Cluster specialized in automobile; Institutions of higher education and research; 1 Regional Agency specialized in Innovation and Business Development; and the lead partner will be the CNRS, French National Centre of Scientific Research.

Possible Actions:

- Definition of common work themes (staff’s exchanges and recruitment)
- Thematic trainings (theory/equipments)
- Sharing of technological resources
- Market research in the field of transportation in the Cross Channel area.
- Linking public/private structures, promotion services
